Holiday Club
Pershore Baptist Church has been running Holiday Clubs for many years, these stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic but in February 2024 we restarted and following a hugely successful week we are excited to be back for another year! During the week we explore Bible stories, discuss life’s big questions and learn about our great big God!
Do I need to register online?
Yes, please! we are thrilled that the Holiday Club is so popular but we do have a limit to the number of children we can take. We are usually fully signed up by the time Holiday Club starts and do not want to disappoint children turning up on the day whom we don’t have room for. Prior registration is also essential for us as we need to know information such as allergies and dietary requirements, in order to be able to keep your children safe.
Who is it for?
Our Holiday Club is suitable for those in school years 1 - 7 (ages 5-12). Unfortunately, we are not equipped to take younger children who have not been in a school environment, our activities are suitable for these age groups.
If your child has additional needs: Please do get in touch with us. We aim to make holiday club as accessible as possible and can accommodate children with some additional needs. However our team is run by volunteers, so unfortunately we don’t have the expertise required to cater for children with acute disabilities.
The Team
We work with our friends from churches across Pershore to help facilitate this annual event. The team leaders include our church minister, safeguarding lead, youth group leaders and church volunteers, all have undergone safeguarding training.
Everyone in the team has passed full DBS checks and received child protection training as we are passionate about keeping children safe while we have our fun
What do you do at Holiday Club?
In the morning we register and welcome the children into the church building and play some games
During the morning we make space for a silly drama & storytelling, followed by a time for discussion and time for the children to ask questions
After lunch (all children need to bring a pack lunch with them) we do some messy challenges, crafts and more games.
Is it about God?
Yes! We respect the right for everyone to hold their own beliefs and that many of the children coming may not be from a faith background. We don’t believe in forcing religion on anyone. However we are passionate about sharing the GOOD NEWS of the Bible through story telling, craft and games.
We encourage the children to pray to a God who loves them and the Christian team share stories of their personal faith. Find more about what we believe in our About Us page on this website.
